meeting expectation

one shouldn’t be rewarded or credited or celebrated for meeting expectation. it was expected of them. one should deserve such things when they exceed expectation.

movies make it seem so easy to be a ‘man’…

men like:

maximus
batman
jimmy braddock
jake tyler brigance
aragorn
ned stark
william wallace
balian de ibelin
michael hosea

man with honor - always pursuing his one true love and never failing, always telling the truth and dying by it, while men praise him - which of course he dismisses because he wishes it were not. humble of course and filled with mercy. flawless in the eyes of men. always so willing to sacrifice all of himself for some greater good.. where are these men today? where are they in this generation? or the last one? what is honor? is it just some made up story or dream? i think so. i think we all strive for it, but fail because we aren’t Jesus. but someone has told me that trying is halfway there. dying while trying is the best i can do. hard for me to accept that though..
